At 4807 meters altitude, the Mont Blanc is the highest summit in Western Europe. This mountain is witness to a long and rich history; the summit has its place amongst the legends of Europe. The summit of Mont Blanc is also the tip of a glacier no less famous: the Glacier des Bossons and the Mont Blanc. The longest glacial slope in Europe (3500 m), 7 kilometers long, an average inclination of 45%, the ice fall advances 250 to 300 meters each year, make this glacier a unique natural wonder. The spectacular color and purity of the ice, the steepness and the high-mountain ambiance, and the effortless access to the site where the terminal section of the glacier reaches the valley floor at 1300m are all reasons that a visit to the Chalet du Glacier des Bossons and the Mont Blanc (1425 m) is an event not to be missed. Several viewpoints, a discovery exposition and various animations...all make your visit to the glacier an event to remember.
